My great friend Colleen and her daughter Megan visited us from Long Island, NY back in, huh-hum, well, in August. My lack in getting a blog post up until now is no reflection on the fabulous time we had, but more on my being overwhelmed by the sheer volume of pictures I needed to narrow from. And my laziness with my blog lately... sorry folks. So here, nearly two months later, is my post of our time with them and a slide show of pictures.
Colleen and Megan arrived late afternoon on Sunday, August 23. Kyle and I picked them up in South Bend and brought them to South Haven, where we enjoyed pizza at the Vineyard. Following pizza we drove them around a bit, then stopped at a great park we have for the kids to play. As the sun began to set over the lake we walked down the steps to the beach (the park is on top of the bluff) to watch. We watched a beautiful sunset and the kids had fun running along the shore and playing in the water. (Yes, Kyle swam in his clothes!)
Monday we hit Deerlick Park Beach. Monday night Mike watched all three kids while Colleen and I got to have a girls night out with some of my friends. Tuesday we went out for breakfast before hitting the Binder Park Zoo.
Wednesday was a rainy day. We enjoyed playing at home, then McDonald's for lunch. It cleared up in the afternoon so we walked around downtown.
Thursday we drove into St. Joseph and went to the Curious Kids Museum. The kids had a great time! We went to lunch at the Pump House (thank you, Mom!!) and then walked around all the animals in the downtown St. Joe area. After that we sadly took Colleen and Megan back to the airport.
We had such a good time with them! Kyle talked about visiting Megan in New York for weeks afterward. Including walking past me with bags and saying, "Bye, I'm going to the airport." When I would ask where he was going it was always to Megan's.
Here is a slide show of many of the pictures from the visit. They are in order, but "start over" again toward the end because I have added some of Colleen's pictures as well. It takes about eight minutes, so settle in. (Somehow it was five, then I went to post it and it was eight. So you get three extra minutes,) ;-)

I loved it!! And yes, thank you to your mom for a great lunch (even if the service wasn't so great!) I can't wait to show Megan the slideshow. She asked me today in the car (again), "Remember when we went to Michigan?" (and she says "Michigan" so cute, btw) "I want to do that again some time." ...Me too...
Although...I would love to have you guys out here any time!
I just let Megan watch this and she laughed out loud at the picture of their feet. HAHA Does Kyle still put them up on the seat? Megan still reminds me how they had "stinky feet" in Michigan.
